As we look ahead to the 2025-2026 school year, I’m excited to continue working in partnership with our families, staff, and broader New Hope-Solebury community to empower all learners for a world of possibilities.
We remain dedicated to supporting the whole child by fostering academic growth, social development, and emotional well-being through a rich curriculum, social-emotional learning, and hands-on experiences that inspire our Lions to learn and lead with confidence and curiosity.
This year, we’re proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our APEX program, which gives seniors real-world experience through a 60-hour internship project. We’re also expanding our RISE program, offering juniors a 20-hour job shadowing opportunity to explore potential careers. These career-readiness programs thrive thanks to our community partners, and we welcome new organizations interested in mentoring or hosting a Lion.
Additionally, we’re thrilled to expand travel experiences for our Lions with the launch of our Global Travel initiative, offering transformative domestic and international experiences that broaden students’ worldviews and deepen their learning.
Our commitment to academic excellence is reinforced through key curriculum updates, including the launch of a dedicated elementary science program that aligns with the new PA STEELS (Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy, and Sustainability) standards. Families will notice a new elementary report card, aligned with updated academic standards, as well as a revised elementary schedule designed to enhance instructional time and enrichment opportunities. We’ll continue strengthening our focus on social-emotional learning through Conscious Discipline, an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach to supporting student mental health and well-being.
Our Lions are building stronger connections with the community through meaningful service learning and partnerships. One standout example is our BRIDGE Program (Building Responsible, Independent, Dependable, Gainfully Employed Adults), which supports students with special needs, ages 18–22, as they transition from school to independent adult life by providing work experience and skills development.
Students at all grade levels participate in community service, with a highlight being our middle school’s service days, which provide students with hands-on opportunities to support local causes. Additionally, the NHSD Community Network continues to build connections between our schools and local organizations. If your nonprofit or community organization is interested in partnering, we welcome your involvement.
Finally, we are pleased to welcome Ms. Stephanie Washam as the new principal of the Lower Elementary School, and we look forward to her leadership in our district.
Be sure to save the date for NHSD LionFest, our annual fall celebration of school spirit and community carnival happening on October 3. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for our Lions Community School registration opening this fall, which will offer opportunities to explore a new interest, skill, or passion.

With the support of our exceptional staff, dedicated Board of School Directors, and engaged community, I’m confident we’re heading into an outstanding year for our Lions!
Warm regards,
Dr. Charles Lentz
