Posted

As the long-awaited football season officially kicks off, Bucks and Montgomery counties have a great mix of sports bars, taverns, and local pubs to watch a game.

Here are a few local spots to watch the Birds this weekend.

Green Parrot Restaurant

Located on North Sycamore Street in downtown Newtown, the Green Parrot Restaurant has a great vibe as an Irish-American tavern with a great sports bar environment. The restaurant pays homage to the historic Green Parrot Inn from the early 1900s — featuring rich woodwork, high ceilings, fireside dining, and a covered open-air patio.

Outfitted with over 20 HD televisions, it’s a go-to spot for catching all the local sports teams with other passionate fans. The menu has the usual fare like wings, cheesesteak egg rolls, and loaded burgers; plus an Irish touch for good measure. Traditional Irish comfort food includes Shepherd’s pie, fish & chips, and bangers & mash.

With 25 beers on draft, creative cocktails, and live weekend entertainment, it's a perfect place to watch the Eagles soar this season.
